Maybelline Super BB Cream Review!

Hello there! I recently did a first impression review on this Maybelline Super BB Cream on my channel so now I will be sharing with you my final thoughts on this!

It is the first high coverage BB from Maybelline. I super agree with this one with just a small amount of the cream you get medium coverage which can hide most of my imperfections on the skin. It has SPF 50/PA ++++ and a mineral guard filter to protect the skin from pollutants and dirt.

The consistency is borderline thick but blends easily when applied.  Oh and it comes in 2 shades only, NATURAL, which I believe is the lighter one and MEDIUM the darker one.

The shade MEDIUM has a yellow undertone but I find it too light on my complexion. I will explain it further below.

I am really impressed with the coverage it gives. Immediately concealed my (minor) blemishes, evened out my skin tone and sets to a matte finish which I LOVE. However, it can emphasize dry, flaking skin so be mindful of that. A little moisturizer can help.  It feels absolutely amazing on the skin very light and not tacky at all.

On artificial lighting and just after application, it looked too light for my skin almost ghostly but trust me it tones down after a few hours. On natural lighting it looked okay though, actually it looked really good. However, since it has SPF 50 it gives off a white cast on flash photography.

With that in mind, I believe this BB cream is definitely for daytime use.  NEVER use this when you know you will take photos with flash.

After 3-4 hours, some of my blemishes started to show BUT the oil control is superb! I was expecting to blot na and I did but I only managed to get a little amount of oil.  By far, of all the BB creams I have tried this one has the BEST oil control plus it did not feel sticky on my face even if I sweat a little bit.

After 8 hours, it did tone down.  I noticed some fading on my forehead but overall it still looked pretty good and it feels very comfortable on my skin.

  • medium coverage, flawless finish, hides pores
  • feels lightweight, not sticky
  • good oil control, can last up to 6 hours on me without blotting
  • SPF 50, great for everyday use
  • easy to blend
  • long lasting

  • a bit pricey, 399php for 30ml
  • white cast on flash photo
  • limited shades available (Natural and Medium only)
  • not photo and video friendly, artificial lighting can make it look too light on skin
  • can emphasize dryness

Look for this photo on my Instagram (@anneclutz) to join my ongoing giveaway, I will be announcing the winners on February 16, 2016!

Thank you for your time! Until my next one! xx

Hi there Anne. I bought that product some weeks ago pero d ko pa nagamit. Since fair ang skin ko, i had that natural one.
Is it okay if before ako mag apply nyan, gamit muna ako toner then apply na? Tamad na kasi para gumamit pa ng primer or modifying powder since on the go parati ang scheds ko.
Looking forward to your immediate response. Thanks.

Hi Anne! After waching this review, I mmediately bought one to try it out myself. And yes I am also impress of the coverage this product leaves. And you are also correct that this product still improved its coverage when i used primer and setting powder. About taking photos with flash, nag reduce ang white cast because of the stting powder. May yellow undertone siya so after applying setting powder, naging natural shade na and nareduce ang white cast over the flash. Super thumbs up for this item. And thank you for the very informative review about this product. More power to you and God bless you. 🙂
