Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation Review!

Hello everyone! Here’s my first impression review of the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation and Pressed Powder. Check out my video below to see the demo and scroll down for the PROs and CONs!

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation in Warm Nude (128)

  • Light to Medium coverage (buildable)
  • thin and easy to blend with sponge and/or foundation brush (but I prefer sponge)
  • lightweight even after oil build up
  • yellow undertone (warm nude)
  • long lasting
  • great oil control
  • the finish on the skin gets better with sweat and oil?
  • looks great on flash photo

  • available online only (480php at Bebang Online Store)
  • no pump
  • glass bottle (not travel friendly)
  • dewy finish
  • no pore concealing benefit on my skin
  • scent is awful (IMHO)

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Pressed Powder in Buff Beige (130)

  • great coverage
  • adds matte finish to the foundation
  • good oil control

  • the mirror and the powder is not conveniently placed on the compact
  • available online only (480php at Bebang Online Store)

Overall, these two are already added to my go-to essentials, it gives the right coverage and has great oil control which works well with the weather here in the Philippines.

Have you tried this already? If so, please feel free to share your thoughts below! Thanks for your time and until my next one!

Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly BB Cream Review!

Hey there! Watch my latest video, my first impression review of Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly.

Probably the cutest BB cream I have ever encountered. It provides light to medium coverage, feels lightweight on the skin, has great oil control and does not feel sticky even after I sweat out a lot. (6 hours max)

It is a little bit on the pinkish undertone though I am not sure if its because of the shade I got (it was labeled 02 but not entirely sure because most of it is in Korean).

So far, this BB cream tops my list of the most comfortable-wearing BB cream out there. If you have oily skin, I highly suggest that you try this out!

No flashback (or minimal) based on what I can see. It was way lighter on my skin tone on application but definitely tones down after a while.

If you are interested in trying this out you can avail of The BB Cream Shop‘s 10% discount on Shopee!

Thanks so much for your time and until my next one!

Fashion 21 Perfect Stick and Two-way Cake with Papaya Extract Review

Still on the hunt for a foundation-powder combo that’s perfect for this season and is affordable? Well, check out my review on the Fashion21 Two-way Cake with Papaya Extract and the Fashion21 Perfect Stick to see if this is yay or nay for the blazing summer heat and for your budget.

Let’s begin with the Perfect Stick. Packaging is almost the same as the Fashion21 Perfect stick with tea tree oil; the only noticeable difference is that this one comes in a silver plastic container, tagged with a reddish orange label that of course indicates the name of the product. It claims to have SPF50+ that is great in helping us battle the sun. It contains 11grams of product and costs for only P190.00 pesos! It comes in a total of six various shades and what I got was in Warm Natural.

On first swatch, you will notice that it has a slight pinkish undertone but it eventually blends onto your skin really well. Even the application is a piece of cake. The finish is powdery but it has an even amount of matte and dewiness which gave my face a glow. I can say that it has a medium coverage for it has concealed my blemishes and evened out my skin tone just by applying one layer of it. It also did not give a sticky feeling whatsoever. The one downside however,  is its scent; it has a bit of an old lady make-up scent at first,  but it goes away a few minutes after application.

To set the foundation, I used the Fashion21 two-way cake with papaya extract. It came in four different shades, and I got #1. At first, I thought that what I got was too fair for me since it was the lightest among the four shades but I thought wrong, it was actually just right for my skin tone. It retails for P195.00 and just like the Perfect Stick, it contains SPF35+. It also claims to have papaya essence which is known to help lighten skin.

Packaging is the typical plastic container but this one is in color orange. It came with a sponge applicator and had a separate compartment for it which I personally liked because I think it’s hygienic rather than having the sponge applicator sit on top of the foundation. It also came with a mirror which is a plus.  I used it dry but you can apply it wet also. When applying it like a powder, you can opt to use the sponge that it came along with or a powder brush that works just as great. It gives a matte finish thus covering the dewiness of the foundation. Again, for those who are particularly sensitive with the smell, it might help to consider that this product has a strong scent to it.

After finishing my makeup, I tried to capture a photo with the flash on, and I was surprised to see the results. Despite both products containing SPF, the picture itself had a very minimal white cast.

So, is this the foundation-powder combo we’ve all been looking for? Maybe not. YES, it is budget friendly and YES, it does make your skin look flawless but after a few hours of wearing it, my face looked really shiny and I had to blot from time to time. After blotting, my blemishes started showing up since some of the product transferred to the sheets. I have a few dry patches around cheek area and that also started to be emphasized. To keep the shine at bay, I tried to retouch with the two-cake, it works but after a few retouches here and there, my face started to feel sticky which was not pleasant at all.

Overall, for its price, I loved the powdery finish and the way it made my skin glow after applying it. However, after a few hours, roughly  a maximum of 6  hours to be specific; it started to get oily and sticky on me even after I retouch and blot. I’d like to say that it best suits dry to normal skin.  I don’t think it’s for the summer season and for those who has oily skin, but if you don’t mind blotting and powdering up from time to time then this might work for you. The shades available is a great selection for Filipina skin tones. For those who are particular with the scent, this product ain’t for you as it has a strong obnoxious smell. This is locally available in all department stores nationwide and affordable.
